The Mindful Notebook: A Wellness Wednesday Update
Many lovely people from the Trumbull community have been gathering in the “Round Room” at Trumbull Congregational Church on Wednesday nights with the aspiration to increase wellbeing. Life can be beautiful, challenging, painful, and joyful. These aspiring yogis, meditators, and artists share the need for a community of people who would like to grow in happiness, peace, wisdom and creativity in a fun and empathetic environment.
What’s happening? – Meditation-May 6, 13, 20 @ 6pm. “Happiness is Possible”-Three Week Series. Mindfulness meditation gives us skillful means to grow in our capacity to be present, to learn to bring an open heart and a clear mind to whatever arises in our lives–some of it super easy and pleasant, and some incredibly painful. Through our practice, we recognize that everybody wants to be happy, that everybody carries a heavy load…and we can greet others and ourselves with compassion and a generosity of spirit. Meditation practices for this series include calming and grounding meditations, a gratefulness practice, a lovingkindness practice, and a practice to connect with our natural inclination to joy and love. Participants enjoy the supportive, mindful community and a growing ability to pause and calm the mind and open the heart.
Gentle Yoga-April 22, June 3, June 10 @ 6pm. “Mid-Week Pick Me Up” – Consider these gentle yoga sessions as a time for self-care, a break from responsibilities, and a connection to mind, body, and spirit. Yoga revitalizes our bodies by circulating vital life force energy. Yoga also fosters mental clarity and awareness of the present moment. You will leave feeling the perfect balance of relaxation and rejuvenation. Previous participants share that this is the yoga class they need: supportive, non-competitive, and gentle!
Mindful Mandala Art Workshops-April 29, May 27 @ 6pm “A Meditative Journey”
A mandala is a circular design made up of repeating patterns, shapes, and details that move outward from a center point. Mandala art is a way to slow down, focus, and create something beautiful one small step at a time. Participants in previous mandala art workshops enjoyed both the creativity and the community. Both experienced artists and those who define themselves as “non-creative” love painting mandalas because it is calming and stress-relieving and because there is no “right” or “wrong” way to create. Mandala art encourages relaxation, mindfulness, and creative expression. Participants take home their finished creation!
Interested? – Consider joining us for the remaining sessions of the Spring 2026 series. All sessions are open to the Trumbull community and beyond. All are welcome here!
We will take a mindful pause for the summer months and resume sessions in the Fall.
