We are sorry. This event is canceled due to a scheduling conflict.

We’re so sorry for this last minute cancellation, but Chris O’Brien is unable to join us on Thursday night, May 31st, for the book talk.

We’re Good: The Power of Faith, Hope, and Determination

We’re Good: The Power of Faith, Hope, and Determination

Come meet author, Meg Keeshan McGovern, and Chris O’Brien, 26-year old Trumbull resident, who was in a life-changing swimming accident eight years ago that left him paralyzed.   Chris and Meg have offered to come talk with us in a small intimate setting where we can openly talk with Chris one-on-one, learn about the faith and hope that kept him strong and grounded through his struggles, and ask any questions we would like (really!). You can expect it to be casual, friendly, fun, faith-centered, and of course some goodies will be served!

This event is open to youth, parents, friends, congregation members, and families.   Books will be available for purchase that night for $18, but if you would like to purchase one in advance to start reading, contact Michelle Consolati at mconsolati@charter.net.

“We’re Good is an inspiring story about a well-rounded teenage athlete whose life changed in the blink of an eye. Chris O’Brien innocently dove into the ocean, hit a sandbar, and was instantly paralyzed. Going from a D-1 athlete to quadriplegic at eighteen years old is life changing. Chris was a swimmer, sailor, and student in college going about life before the accident. First time author, Meg Keeshan McGovern, has beautifully captured the pathos that accompanies a family tragedy and illustrates how it can become triumph for all. Through narrative and personal stories she guides the reader through the various stages of grief, denial, anger, therapy and devotion that this one family went through to emerge on the other side stronger and full of more promise than ever.”

Please join us on Thursday, May 31st at 7:00pm in the TCC Round Room
